Timeline of All the Texts and Emails That Go Out For a Booking

Know when texts and emails are sent to you, your customers, and your guides throughout the booking process

This article will cover the timeline of all the texts and emails that are sent to you, your customers, and your guides during the booking process. That way, you know what and when to expect them. And, should your customers have any questions, you can refer to this article.

Notifications Your Customers Receive:

Upon Booking

Confirmation Email and Text

Your customer (the person who reserved the trip) will receive a confirmation email with the name and date of the booking, the receipt, a link to a waiver (if applicable), and an .ICS file to add to their personal calendar.

Note: After every client signs their waiver, they'll receive an email with a link to their signed waiver and a modified version of the confirmation email.

24-72 Hours Before Trip

72 Hours Before Trip

If you're using Origin's built-in waiver system, we'll automatically send an email AND text three days (72 hours) before the trip to the booker reminding them to all participants must fill out waivers.

24 Hours Before Trip

We'll automatically send a reminder email AND text 24 hours before the trip. This will include the name and date of the booking. Note: You can customize the number of days (i.e. 50 or 15 days before the trip) you want an additional pre-trip email sent.

Immediately After The Trip's End Time

We'll email AND text your clients to review your company (this can be customized too) with a link directly to the booking.

Note: everyone (non-minors) who signs a waiver (if you use waivers) will receive a text and email to review

One Week Post-Trip

If your clients have not left a review, we'll send them a reminder email AND text (same as the original review request email).

Any Changes Made

We'll automatically send an email if:

  • The trip meetup location changes

  • The remaining balances changes

  • Start time/date changes

Notifications You, The Admin, Receive:

Upon Booking

When a trip is booked, you'll receive an email with a basic summary (time, date, and name of trip, and payment)

Any Changes Made

Notifications you'll receive:

  • An email when a remaining balance charge is successful or fails to collect.

  • An in-app notification of any unsigned waivers.

Notifications Your Guides Receive:

Upon Booking

We'll automatically email AND text your guide when they're assigned to a newly-booked trip. This will include an .ICS calendar file so they can add it to their personal calendar too.

24 Hours Before Trip

Your guides will receive a text 24 hours before a trip notifying them of any unsigned waivers.

Post-Trip

If you're using Origin's Post-Trip Reports tool, your guide will receive an email AND text requesting them to complete their post-trip report.

Any Changes Made
