How to Create Different Payments Options

Create dynamic pricing options, or offer gift cards, deposits, and discounts

Dynamic Pricing

Origin offers different dynamic pricing based on what you want to charge.

Fixed Per-Person

Charging for different tiers per person, like Child, Adult, Senior, etc.

1. Click Listings.

2. Click the Pricing icon (under Edit Listing).

3. Click Add New Price.

4. Enter the name and price per person you want to charge.

5. Click Next to save changes.

Variable Pricing

You can charge less per person when you have a group booking through Origin's Variable Pricing feature.

1. Go to Listings.

2. Click on the dollar icon next to the listing you want to do variable pricing.

3. Then you can price that trip however you want, like charging 2 people $400.

4. Click Next at the bottom of the page to save your changes.


Gift Cards

To configure gift cards:

  1. Go to Payments, then Gift Cards.

  2. Toggle "Allow customers to purchase gift cards."

  3. Enter your Terms and Conditions for your company's gift cards.

  4. Complete the remaining fields.

  5. Click Save.

Use the link at the top of the page to paste the code onto your website. You can paste the code in a button, picture, or hyperlink through text.

When your customers click the link, they'll be asked to create an account and enter the gift card recipient's contact information.

Your customer can choose from a variety of different digital gift cards by clicking the left and right arrows. They'll need to complete all the blank fields and accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy before they can purchase the gift card.

After your customer purchases the gift card, the gift card recipient will receive an email with the redemption code, a message from the sender, and the expiration date (if you create one), and the gift card buyer will receive an email receipt.

Note: If the company has gift cards turned on (or if they've turned it off but there are still people with gift cards for that company that can be redeemed), there will be a field for the gift card code when you book a listing. The gift card can be used to cover all or part of the price of the booking, including the fees. Multiple gift cards can be used for the same booking if necessary.


Deposits

Enabling deposits allows your customers to pay a percentage up-front while holding their reservation.

The default setting is 100%, which means the full amount will be charged at checkout. You can now set what percentage of the payment you would like to collect up-front. On the day of the Adventure (or earlier if you prefer), we will charge the remaining amount.

How to use it:

  1. From your dashboard, click Payments in the left side panel.

  2. Then click Deposit Settings.

  3. Enter the percentage you will accept as a deposit prior to the Adventure.

  4. Click Save.


Discounts

Discount codes are great for offering special pricing for Veterans, First Responders, Senior Citizens, Children, or if you're running a promotion.

Here's how to create a discount code:

  1. From your dashboard, go to Payments.

  2. Click Discounts.

  3. Click Add New Discount.

  4. Enter a name for accounting purposes.

  5. Enter code for customers to use.

  6. Choose discount type.

  7. Enter percent off.

  8. Select the expiration date (if applicable).

  9. Select the listings this discount code can be applied.

  10. Click Save.

How to delete a discount code:

  1. From your dashboard, go to Payments.

  2. Click Discounts.

  3. Locate the discount you want to delete and click Remove this discount.
