How To Add Trips To The Schedule

Step-by-step instructions for adding listings to your Origin schedule so guests can book.

Before adding trips to the schedule, make sure you've already created your listing and that at least one guide is assigned to the correct categories. If you're not sure, see Availabilities Aren't Showing On The Calendar And I Can't Book Anything for a full checklist.

Adding a Trip to the Schedule

  1. In the left sidebar, click Schedule.

  2. Click on the date you want to make available. The Add to the Calendar popup will appear.

  3. Select the Listing from the dropdown menu.

  4. Confirm the Date and set a Start Time for the trip.

  5. Use the Repeat checkboxes to select which days of the week this listing repeats (e.g., every Saturday and Sunday).

  6. Set a Repeat Until date to automatically fill your calendar with availability for a date range. You do not need to set an end time — Origin calculates that automatically based on the duration in your listing settings.

  1. Choose the Public or Private setting for this availability slot:

    • Private (default) — Only one booking can be made per date. Once a party books that slot, the date closes automatically. Best for private guided trips.

    • Public — Multiple parties can book the same date until all seats are filled. Best for courses, group trips, or open-enrollment events.

  2. Optionally, select specific Guides to assign to this trip. If left blank, any available guide assigned to that listing's category can be scheduled.

  3. If the number of Max Seats for this specific date differs from the default set in your listing, update it here. This overrides the listing default for that date only.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Repeat for each listing or date range you want to make available.

Guide category requirement: Guides must be assigned to the same category as your listing before they will count toward availability. If a guide isn't showing up or the trip isn't bookable after scheduling, check their category assignments in Guides → Manage.

What Happens After You Save?

Once saved, the trip will appear as a colored block on your Schedule calendar. Guests visiting your public booking page will see the date as available and can begin booking. If the date doesn't appear publicly right away, check the following:

  1. Your Stripe account is connected — go to Payments → Bank Account to confirm.

  2. At least one guide is assigned to this listing's category and has Display on Public Pages enabled — check under Guides → Manage.

  3. The listing itself is set to Public (not Private) if you want it to appear in search results.
