We've listed the ways to set up inventory in order:
Inventory types (optional)
Inventory types are for pooling items in your inventory that are the same. For example, 'Cruiser Bike' or 'Tandem Kayak.' Once you have some Types, you can add them to each inventory item you create, if you want. This is not mandatory in order to create Inventory Items.
How to do this:
Click Inventory, then Types.
Click Add new inventory type.
Enter the name.
Click Save.
Adding/Editing Inventory
After you've created your inventory type(s), you can add your various inventory. When adding inventory, add every individual piece of inventory you want to keep track of.
For example, if you have 10 pairs of Red Climbing Shoes, 10 pairs of Green Climbing Shoes, and 10 pairs of Blue Climbing Shoes, add each pair as its own separate inventory item with a Seat value of 1 per each pair.
If you have very limited sizes, it might make more sense to group sizes as their own inventory item with the size in the name or ID, so you don't run out of a certain size and not realize it.
How to do this:
1. Click Inventory, then click Edit.
2. Click Add new inventory item.
3. Enter the name (e.g. Maestro Mid Eco Climbing Shoes, size 38 EU), ID, and Seats:
1 seat if it's a pair of shoes, skis, or any other item that can only be used by 1 person at a time.
2 if it's a tandem kayak or something that can hold 2 people at once.
If you are entering a bus, van, boat, or other vehicles that can hold many people, enter the maximum amount of seats you want that item to hold.
4. Click Save.
Important:
If you select a Listing to attach inventory to, that inventory item will be assigned automatically when that Listing is booked. This can be helpful for things like vehicles, bikes, etc.
If you don't want your inventory items to be assigned automatically, simply leave the Listing area blank for that item. You can still add them to a booking when they come in. You can do this from Home, Schedule, the Adventure Page, and the Booking Page.
Connect inventory to add-ons
When an add-on is created or updated, it can now have an inventory item or items attached to it, so that the inventory is added to a booking if that add-on is chosen. This makes it easier for you to track how many add-ons with inventory are being used.
How to do this:
1. Click Payments, then click Add-Ons.
2. Click New Add-On.
3. Enter Name, Price, and Description, and select the Listings it's available for.
4. Click Add Inventory where you will see the Inventory Types you created before.
5. Enter the quantity you want to assign if the add-on is purchased:
In basically every case you will want the Quantity to be 1. Example: I want 1 bike assigned for every 1 add-on purchased. If someone selects 2 bike add-ons, it will assign 2, and so on.
6. Click Save.
Important:
If you select a Listing on your Inventory Item, and also attach that same item to an Add-On which is assigned to that same Listing, you will create a double association and will not see the Add-On as an option at checkout.
This is because that item is being pulled in two different directions at once, therefore our system doesn't know where it should actually go.
If you know you only want that item to be offered as an Add-On, then please leave the Listing area for that Inventory Item blank.
