How auto-renew works
Auto-renew only applies to Private trips, not Public ones.
The reason is that Public trips already stay open and dynamically adjust availability based on seats sold, max capacity, guide ratios, and available guides, even after bookings come in.
When auto-renew does apply
Auto-renew is meant for Private trips, where:
each booking consumes a full guide or trip, and
once that instance is “used up,” Origin automatically creates the next one so availability continues.
That’s why you’ll see the auto-renew checkbox during setup, but it won’t have any effect once the trip is scheduled as Public.
How this will help you:
By checking Auto Renew, when an adventure is booked, a copy of that adventure is created for another guide to take.
This helps tour operators with several guides who can each lead a separate adventure at the same time and day. It makes the same booking available once the original adventure is full. This way, you don’t have to create a separate adventure several times for all of your guides.
How to use it:
Enable the Auto-Renew within the listing itself.
Click Listings in the left-hand column.
Click on the edit button for the specific listing.
You’ll see this function on the Details page between Deposit Collection and Location.
Check the box and Click Next to save your changes.
