How To Add Line Items To Trips

Now you can add arbitrary fees to your payments, which are calculated in the subtotal and reflected in the final total.

Written by Grant White

This is useful for things like:

  • Sales tax

  • Land use fees

  • Park access fees

  • Processing surcharges

  • Guide service fees

How to Create a Line Item

  1. Go to Payments → Line Items in your dashboard.

  2. Click Add Line Item (if needed) to create a new one.

  3. Enter a Name (ex: City Tax, Park Permit Fee, Processing Fee).

  4. Choose the charge type:

    • Percentage (%) — applies a percentage to the booking total (ex: 2.5% tax)

    • Fixed Dollar ($) — adds a specific dollar amount (ex: $25 per booking)

For percentage line items, you can now choose whether the percentage is calculated on Seats Only or Seats + Add-Ons.

  5. Select which listings the line item applies to:

    • Check All Listings to apply the fee everywhere

    • Or select one or more listings individually

  6. (Optional) Set a Start Date and End Date if the line item is seasonal.

  7. Click Save at the bottom to apply the changes.
